Lake House

Architectural Design, 3D + Render: Aiyê Bioarquitetura

Designed with bamboo trusses, this house integrates ancestral techniques and technological innovations, using bamboo in the structure, raw earth in the fences and liquid rubber from recycled tires in the roof, thus reducing carbon emissions. Divided into two modules – social (living room and kitchen) and private (bedrooms) – both take advantage of the privileged view of the lake and the trees of the condominium. Connected by a corridor, the modules have a raw earth enclosure, ensuring thermo-acoustic comfort and allowing them to "breathe". Large balconies offer living areas in harmony with nature. Following the principles of biophilic design, the house seeks to convey peace and tranquility, promoting reconnection with the natural surroundings.

Dune House

The house is located in the remote town of San Crisanto, on the Yucatán Peninsula, in Mexico. With two floors, the house has two large balconies and a gazebo for contemplating its natural surroundings. Its construction will be with superadobe walls (bagged raw earth) and a cococrete roof (mixture of concrete with coconut fiber). Its organic design emerges from the ground like a dune in the middle of a large plain in front of the beach.

Tsonot Rooftop

This project presents an organic and parametric bamboo roof for a restaurant located on the roof of a residential building, also designed by Arista Cero. Inspired by the wings of a bird, the structure uses bamboo slats in its laminated beams, as well as structural fabric with a random appearance, plump bamboo columns, and jute and elastimper (liquid rubber from recycled tires) in the roof.

Las Peñas Roof

Outdoor area coverage for a family home on Las Peñas beach, in Yucatán, Mexico.
With an organic curved beam of bamboo slats and parametric structural grid, each viewing angle reveals a different shape than the other. Its movement resembles that of a sea wave.
The structure serves as a space for living and contemplating the natural surroundings with its different views of the landscape.

Tortuga Roof

Inspired by the shape of a turtle shell, the roof serves as a space for contemplating the landscape in a residence in Las Peñas, on the Yucatán Peninsula, in Mexico. The ceiling structure is composed of a grid of plump, curved bamboos arranged in a dynamic spiral.
Have you ever noticed the set of spirals in the central part of a sunflower or in the shape of a pine cone? This structure is inspired by this geometric/mathematical pattern, which is structurally efficient.

Frutiverse Market

Design, 3D + Render: Aiyê Bioarquitetura

This is a project designed for the Metaverse. We were invited by Ava Creative to design an immersive virtual supermarket for the Hortifruti brand, being an immersive biophilic space, accessible both through the market website and through virtual reality glasses. The design offers customers a shopping experience that reflects the familiarity and interaction of the physical world. Its design is inspired by a flower, where its petals demarcate different sectors such as fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, among others. It has a bamboo structure, exposed to the sun and rain, which floats freely, defying the conventions of physical laws and construction limitations of the real world. The petals are closed with a mesh of bamboo slats, reminiscent of traditional market baskets, creating a welcoming and harmonious environment.

Lotus House

Architectural Design: Toh balam + Aiyê Bioarquitetura
3D + Render: Aiyê Bioarquitetura

The project is a single-family house located in the Mayan jungle of Tulum. The shape with radial and modular symmetry resembles a lotus flower. With 3 suites, an office, multimedia room, yoga room and a living room with integrated kitchen, the house has 2 floors, as well as a tower with space for meditation and yoga. Its structure is a dialogue between the straight lines and curves of bamboo, which is used in several ways in the project. The house has large raw earth walls with a chukum finish - an ancestral Mayan technique that uses the bark of a local tree, has earthy tones and is waterproof* - and with its various facades, it integrates and dialogues with its surroundings.

The 3-story house houses a living room with integrated kitchen on the ground floor, and 2 bedrooms and an office/yoga room on the upper floors. With a hexagonal plan, which generates spacious environments and different views of the surroundings, it has a mixed structure of wood and bamboo, chukum finishes and details in bejuco (a type of local vine).
